Use It or Lose it!

Nov 11 • 1 minute read

Most dental benefits expire at the end of the year, December 31st. Are your benefits expiring soon?

As December quickly approaches, the last thing you may be thinking about is making an appointment to see your dentist. Something to think about is that dental plans that run on a calendar year will be expiring at the end of December- and if you don’t use these benefits you lose them!

Most benefit plans rest every benefit year, meaning any unused funds for the current year will no longer be accessible once the new benefit year starts. If you don’t use these benefits you may be letting hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars worth of benefits go back to the insurance company’s bank account. Benefits are part of your salary so allowing them to expire is like giving back part of your pay.

At Gardens Dental in Aldershot we never let treatment be dictated by insurance, but if you have outstanding work to do (and funds left on your benefit plan), this may be the perfect time to complete your dental treatment. This applies to everyone on your benefits plan, and since the funds are not transferrable between family members, it is a good idea for each member of your plan with any dental concerns to book an appointment to see if any treatment is needed.

We want dental care to be affordable, accessible and stress-free for you and your family. Our number one priority is the lasting health of your teeth and gums.

Please contact our office and we would be happy to schedule an appointment for a check-up or for treatment with Dr. Galkin. All of us here at Gardens Dental wish you a beautiful holiday season!
